Senator Seekins, Chair, moved and asked unanimous consent for the adoption of the Judiciary Committee Substitute offered on page 1276. Without objection, CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 186(JUD) "An Act relating to the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act; and providing for an effective date" was adopted. Senator French offered Amendment No. 1 : Page 2, line 4: "Delete $10,000" Insert "$5,000" Page 2, line 6: Delete "$10,000" Insert "$5,000" Senator French moved for the adoption of Amendment No. 1. Senator Gary Stevens objected. The question being: "Shall Amendment No. 1 be adopted?" The roll was taken with the following result: CSSB 186(JUD) Second Reading Amendment No. 1 YEAS: 8 NAYS: 11 EXCUSED: 1 ABSENT: 0 Yeas: Davis, Ellis, Elton, French, Guess, Hoffman, Kookesh, Olson Nays: Cowdery, Dyson, Green, Huggins, Seekins, Stedman, Stevens B, Stevens G, Therriault, Wagoner, Wilken Excused: Bunde and so, Amendment No. 1 failed. 2005-05-05 Senate Journal Page 1374 Senator French offered Amendment No. 2 : Page 7, line 15: Delete ", complainant, subject of the complaint," Page 7, lines 17 - 31: Delete all material. Insert "confidentiality regarding the existence of the investigation." Renumber the following bill sections accordingly. Senator French moved for the adoption of Amendment No. 2. Senator Gary Stevens objected. The question being: "Shall Amendment No. 2 be adopted?"
